We’ve received many questions over the past week relating to our candidacy, not only for the local councils but also for potential elections to the European Parliament (both in May) and an as-yet very speculative General Election.

  • UKIP as a whole has been reluctantly preparing for another round of EU elections for some time, and UKIP Manchester will support our North West colleagues as necessary. Candidates are being considered on several factors, and if such an election is called then we will be ready.
  • Rumours of another snap General Election have been coming and going for well over a year, and at time of writing it is not yet apparent that these should be taken seriously. That said, politics moves very rapidly these days and we will endeavour to face whatever electoral challenges present themselves.
  • UKIP Manchester covers the constituencies of Manchester Central, Manchester Gorton, and Manchester Withington. We will be contesting several key wards within these areas, the full details of which will be published shortly.
Meanwhile, we can confirm that UKIP Manchester members will be standing in the 2019 council elections for the following seats:

    Ancoats and Beswick
    Gorton and Abbey Hey
    Miles Platting and Newton Heath

To get in touch with our candidates for these areas, please contact ‘candidates@ukipmanchester.org‘ and ensure your message is clearly labelled with the area you’d like to discuss.
